Anahol Pokki (アナホル・ポッキ Anahoru Pokki) is a fictional character in the Shaman King manga and anime series. He is the younger brother of Anatel Pokki.[3]

Appearance[]

Anahol strongly resembles his late brother, Anatel Pokki, to the point where both Iron Maiden Jeanne and Lyserg Diethel, at first sight, mistook him for Anatel, although he proclaims that his brother's nose was 3 cm longer.[3] Anahol wore a golden colored suit that had hieroglyphic patterns texture adorned all over the suit, a magenta dress shirt with a white tie, and brown formal shoes.

Personality[]

Anahol is quite similar to his brother in terms of vanity. It is apparent he has great respect for his late brother, as he describes Anatel's nose as "beautiful". He seeks revenge against Team "X-I", particularly Jeanne, as she was responsible for killing his brother.[3]

He is confident in his abilities and acts calmly when he has the upper hand, but Anahol is easily frightened, such as when facing people stronger than him[4] or being forced to ride in speeding cars.[5][6]

Abilities and Powers[]

After allying with Asakura Hao in order to exact revenge on Iron Maiden Jeanne, Anahol was granted power from Hao and surpassed even his brother's strength.[7]

History[]

Shaman Fights Second Round[]

Anahol left Patch Stadium after watching Team "Hana-Gumi kill Team "Magic Princess".[8] After the SDI X-Laser struck the island, Anahol appeared on the bridge in front of the Lincoln-X and used his whip to pierce through the windshield and Marco Lasso's chest. Iron Maiden Jeanne mistook Anahol for his brother, Anatel, and Anahol proclaimed his desire for revenge for his brother. He pursued the car when Lyserg Diethel had Zelel fly it away. His sphinx Over Soul eventually caught up to and destroyed the car,[3] killing both Lyserg and Jeanne. Tamamura Tamao and Oyamada Manta, however, survived.

When Anahol moved to destroy the X-Laws' corpses as part of his deal with Asakura Hao, Tamao chose to stay and protect their bodies because she believed that either Johann Faust VIII or Saigan Sati would be able to revive them. Anahol dismissed her but when she refused to back down, he lifted her off the ground and kicked Manta. Before Anahol's sphinx could fire at Tamao, Ponchi kicked Anahol in the face, and Marco—who had been revived before Jeanne's death—used Michael to destroy the sphinx. Anahol restored his Over Soul and attacked Marco, who continued destroying the sphinx until he held Anahol at gunpoint. He demanded that Anahol take them to Sati Saigan, but Hao arrived and informed them that she was dead as well. While Marco was distracted, Anahol stole his gun, punched him to the ground, and held him down at gunpoint.[4]

When Marco summoned Michael in its supercar form so Tamao could escape with Jeanne's and Lyserg's bodies, Luchist summoned Lucifer's supercar form in preparation for pursuit. The sudden arrival of Kyōyama Anna and the Golem occupied Hao long enough for Tamao to flee in the car. While Hao and Anna fought, Anahol and Luchist sped after Tamao and the Golem, which was carrying Marco.[9] However, the pursuit was later called off.

During the match between Team "Funbari Onsen" and Team "The Ren", Anahol tried to sneak away while Hao was enjoying a hot spring and listening to the match over the radio, but Hao called Anahol out for it. Hao then had to explain to Anahol about Na-Avidya, Yoh's new power to neutralize furyoku.[10]

Later that night, Anahol rode with Luchist to meeting with the Asakura and Tao Families and Marco.[6] The next day, while the other shamans confronted the fleet of ships off the coast of Tokyo, Anna forced Anahol to investigate Tamurazaki Midori's van but they were unable to find any evidence to use against the Oyamada Family. Hao then arrived and peaceably chatted with Anna, which confused Anahol.[11]

Invading the Plants[]

After the fleet was destroyed, Anna tied up Oyamada Mansumi and brought him to meet Manta. Anahol expressed concern over Anna's untying of Mansumi and leaving him unguarded, but she trusted Mansumi. Anahol then reunited with Brocken Meyer and the resurrected Hao's followers.[12] They all gathered on the beach for a barbeque, but Anahol was initially hesitant to befriend his former enemies. While Anahol was talking over his conflicted emotions with Tamao, Anna announced that Jeanne had run out of furyoku. Ann then read off the remaining amounts of other shamans on .[13]

The next morning, Anna forced Anahol to use his Over Soul as a submarine for her and the others to travel to the underwater continent and deliver the four remaining Grand Elemental Spirits.[14] However, before they could reach Mū, Hao awoke as the Shaman King and destroyed the sphinx and everyone inside it.[15]

Anahol boarded the train of souls in the Great Spirit and was reunited with his brother. They then rode the train up to the Shaman King's Commune in support of the Five Elemental Warriors against Shaman King Hao.[16]

Anime/Manga Difference[]

Anahol does not appear in the 2001 anime series, although his brother, Anatel, does.
