Blon (ブロン Buron) is a fictional character from the Shaman King manga and anime series. As one of the Patch Officiants, he was responsible for overseeing the X-Laws's teams,[2] as well as Lyserg Diethel.[3]

Blon had long, stringy black hair. When not in his battle outfit, Blon wears a standard Patch Cloak with a headband. Like most of the Patch tribe, he wears a silver plate on his chest, his was a shaped like a spider, referring to his spider guardian ghost Blue Net.
When in his plant or in battle he wears a black unitard with spider hair bracelets on his ankles and wrists.
Personality[]
Blon is normally very calm and follows the Patch tribe, policy of neutrality. When under the power of the Patch Song, Blon becomes very cold and readily kills his opponents without hesitation while mocking them for an inability to fight back in his plant. But after being hit by Lyserg's Over Soul and later burned by it, he does seem to lose his cool and goes into a crazy frenzy, ignoring his hand being cut off and having his cranium and knees crushed by Jeanne´s torture Over Soul.

Blon's Guardian Ghost, Blue Net

His Guardian Ghost is a spider called Blue Net and its mediums are wrist and ankle cuffs made out of spider hair. With the Over Soul, Blon has the power to create spider webs for walking on, create nets for catching an opponent, or fire silk threads as projectiles.[4] After catching his opponents in individual webs, he is somehow able to create several small spiders to rearrange the threads into neatly formed webs.

Shaman Fights in Tokyo[]
Blon was sent to London to test Lyserg Diethel after the passing of Ragoh and Keito. Lyserg managed to hit Blon after having to track Blon through his guardian ghost alone.[5]
Shaman Fights Second Round[]
When Silva tried to steal the remaining four Grand Elemental Spirits and was captured, Goldva ordered Blon and Renim to re-educate him in the ways of the Patch, something Kalim seemed shocked to hear.[6]
Invading the Plants[]
Once Asakura Hao was crowned the Shaman King by forfeit of the remaining three teams and his own two teammates, the remaining teams invaded the Plants and faced off against Silva. Blon and Renim ordered Silva to return to his Plant and then revealed their own Over Souls while greeting the invaders. As they left, Blon and Renim warned the invaders to follow the main path or get lost forever.
When Asakura Yoh and company entered the second plant, Blon's Valley Plant, they encountered Blon who was floating in midair. Blon dropped the gang in the valley and attacked. Ryu tried cutting through the spider silk they were netted in but could not due to it being Over Souled. Ren flew behind Blon but was slammed down.
Chocolove McDonnell Over Souled with Pascual Abaj but could not do it fast enough. Lyserg used Morphin to save everyone and readied himself to fight his old officiant. Blon was revealed to have spider webs under his feet to keep himself up. Lyserg pulled out his gun and aimed at Blon saying that he will defeat him. Blon wondered how Lyserg would achieve that as he had already killed Tao Ren with a single blow. He then pointed at Usui Horokeu and noticed how they would not have Furyoku to revive one another forever and then killed Horokeu.
Lyserg became agitated and pointed his gun at Blon although he was stopped by Yoh who noted that Blon must have a strange and secret power seeing that he was willing to kill. Blon noted how he should have killed Yoh first but explained the Patch Song. He began singing as his spiders rearranged the web holding the invaders. Lyserg moved behind Blon for a surprise attack, but Blon dodged thanks to the web he had played out over the entire area. Blon's counterattack, however, was burned down by Lyserg. As Lyserg burned Blon as well, Blon hit Lyserg in the chest, seemingly killing him.

Iron Maiden Jeanne unlocked herself and summoned guillotines to cut off Blon's arms. She then restrained him with another torture instrument. Blon, however, told her not to underestimate his Furyoku level and, after increasing his power even more, created a spider body by covering his entire body in his Over Soul. Blon quickly attacked Jeanne but to his surprise was stopped by Lyserg, who revealed that Marco's Glasses were bulletproof. Blon prepared himself to finish the fight, but Lyserg used his Over Soul's many arms to hold Blon, telling Blon that he could not do anything as him seeing Lyserg alive had disturbed his heart. Lyserg then thanked Blon for everything and unleashed his Halvaya attack, killing Blon by burning his body within a large vortex of fire.[7] Blon fell to the bottom of his plant dead and Yoh and company moved on.
He later appeared, together with all the other Patch Priests, within the Great Spirit.[8]
Anime/Manga Difference[]
In the 2001 anime series, Blon was never shown but was only mentioned by Lyserg when he passed his test.
Trivia[]
- Unlike most of the Patch members, Blon's name is not derived from an element of the periodic table, instead being named for the copper alloy, bronze.
- In the Patch Officiant's questionnaire portion of the Shaman King Mentalite guidebook, Blon is identified as "Cu", the chemical symbol for copper.
