Densen Hoshi (田浅 法師 Densen Hōshi) is a fictional character in the Shaman King manga series. He is a monk who was responsible for the death of Asaha Doji's mother, Asanoha.
Appearance[]
Densen is a very chubby man, who appears to be in his late 60's. He wears a traditional Japanese robes, he has short grey hair.
Personality[]
Despite his false self-claimed skills he did actually not believe in demons himself and considered them only to be a symbol of man's own dark thoughts.

Densen is a fraud who does not have shamanic powers, despite his claims.
History[]
Mappa Doji[]
Densen Hoshi was supposedly a monk, held in high esteem for his "ability" to see demons and kill them. People went to him to tell him about a woman called Asanoha who spoke to things others could not see and was considered as a demon, a fox disguised as a woman. Densen and his men burnt her alive in her house but did not kill her infant son, Asaha Doji, believing that it was not really necessary.
Soon afterward, he was asked to kill him too but Asaha, having formed his first Over Soul with Ohachiyo, fought them off and killed Densen to avenge his mother.[1]
