Izanami (イザナミ) is a fictional character in the Shaman King series. The underworld goddess of Japanese mythology, she is a ruler of Hell and was the guardian of the Spirit of Thunder.[1]

After Hao stole the Spirit of Fire, the Patch Tribe hid the other Grand Elemental Spirits within the depths of Hell to prevent them from being stolen as well. They entrusted the Spirit of Thunder with Izanami because she was less well known and was willing to honor the contract.[1]
When Saigan Sati and Team "Myooh" invaded Hell to obtain the four remaining Great Elemental Spirits, Jackson faced off against Izanami in order to retrieve the Spirit of Thunder.[2]
Anime/Manga Difference[]
Izanami does not truly appear in the manga and both anime series.
